ATTENTION PORTFOLIO DUC!!!
Its Deadline Day for your Portofolio's Tom! Monday July 11, 2005!
Make sure you show me your portfolios and approval for printing and reproduction. I will be at ML3 or ML4 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm only.
I will spare you the hassle( and from making fools out of yourselves in front of the panel for poor preparation) , so I the portfolios that I dont approve, WILL NO LONGER JOIN THE PANEL on July 15th. Remember the panel is a major chunk of your grade, so accept the possibility that us (Sir Dan, Sir Leo and Mis Barbs) will see you for PORTFOLIO next term.
Here are some tips to remember for Portfolio Defence on the 15th:
1. Presentation! - Make sure you have at least a Powerpoint and Flash presentation, to discuss the concept of your Portfolio (look, image, feel) along with your references.
2. The Concept - make sure the concept is clear, and understandable , which should obviously reflected on your Portfolio. Names, colours, and design should all blend nicely...
3. The Marketing Collateral - should include your business card, your letter envelopes, your resume, CD jacket/holder (for interactives) and the kit box, plus others you might like to add such as pins, buttons, set card, mini books etc...Look and feel should be consistent for all...no design clashes please.
4. Envelopes! - should have the STANDARD sender and reciever placements. Do not change these placements and conform to the standard Post office message envelopes text layout.
5. CD Cases/Jackets/Covers - especially for interactive, which is indeed cheaper to produce than print, should be VERY UNIQUE in concept and design. Sawa na kami sa CD cases and Jackets.
6. The Resume! - make sure you stick to the resume outline, make sure relevant info is placed there...no statistics for body weight, etc...you can find it on the FTP folder or Mis Barbs Portfolio folder. ideal would be one page for easy reading for your portfolio viewers.
7. Test Print! - please test print your printed materials before producing them, especially photo pages. You can place all the critical photos and works in a single page for printing and calibrate either your computer's colour or your printer's.
8. Allocate Page spacings for Binding - allocate page spacings for print , so that binding does not "eat" the pages or ring binds dont interfere with your work displayed in your pages.
9. Review all captions/text descriptions - make sure you have relevant text for each of your works, describing it, the date or year it was produced, your idea behind the work. These should be well placed with good typhography and well chosen font and sizes...For videos in print, give a short synopsis or phrase teaser of what it is.
10. Talk People! - Talk please! your voice should be clear, firm and with confidence. Excercise modesty, and receptiveness to suggestions.
and Finally:
Bring an index card or Post-ITs to write down the revisions of the Panel.
GOOD LUCK!

Medyo malayo sa first one, medyo bold ang decision mo dyan. Basta you can link the portfolio and your name. You have 12 hours to go for approval.
